Luke 6:38 – Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put
into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
Why does God give us blessings? Believe it or not, for the same reason He allows us to suffer – for the benefit
of others. Our lives are not our own for we have been bought with a price – therefore we are to glorify God with all
we are and have. The way God often chooses to meet the needs of people is through other people. When someone
is struggling with a tragedy, the best encouragers are those who have experienced a similar tragedy. When
someone has a specific financial need, God usually provides through another person. So when you are suffering,
assume it is God preparing you to minister to someone else in the future who will go through the same suffering.
And when you receive an unexpected financial blessing, assume God gave it to you to meet the need of someone else –
it’s just the way He works.
Making adjustments in life is a given – making them correctly, not so much. If only there was a way to have confidence that the adjustments you are making are not only the right adjustments but that you are adjusting in the right direction, in the right way, with godly motives, resulting in following God’s… Continue Reading
When I reflect on the fact that we only have three full-time employees (missionaries) and three part-time office personnel and a volunteer board of directors, it astounds me to see what God is accomplishing through this ministry. How is it that we are able to impact churches both in Jamaica and here in the States?… Continue Reading
Matthew 25:34-40 Sharing the gospel clearly is required if people are going to understand and accept the good news of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:13,14 tells us that unless the gospel is heard, a person cannot believe and be saved, making speaking the gospel paramount. But is speaking all that is required of us – or… Continue Reading
Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:29-44, Luke 9:10-17, John 6:1-13 Jesus had just received news of his cousin, John the Baptist’s death, and decided to sail across the Sea of Galilee with his disciples to a secluded place to rest. But the people saw where they were headed and ran around the Sea of Galilee to meet… Continue Reading
Often when people think of missionaries, they think of someone living in another country serving full-time for the rest of their lives. While that definition can fit, there are lots of other definitions that can fit as well: Regular – we have several individuals who have chosen to make J-Teams a regular part of their… Continue Reading
Our God is a relational God. He created us in His image as relational, rational, volitional, emotional beings. And then He invited us to partner with Him. Judges 6,7 gives the account of Gideon’s invitation to partner with God and the four things God requires: faith, obedience, the Holy Spirit, and God’s grace. Faith is… Continue Reading
Serving is a huge part of the Christian Life–it is what we are designed for, serving others. From the very beginning we were created to meet others’ needs and allow others to meet our needs. Jesus Himself said He came to serve, not to be served (Mark 10:45). Service comes in many forms–with family, with friends, with people you… Continue Reading
John 16:33 …In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. Hardship, injustice, violence, sickness, pain, evil is all part and parcel for the world in which we live. Things are getting worse, not better, and Jesus’ prayer to the Father on our behalf in John 17 was not… Continue Reading
The Nichols’, Hentzels’, and T4MM families have lost two very precious people violently and suddenly. And we will miss Harold and Randy very, very much. We have received three common responses from people. First, people do not know what to say – how do you comfort a spouse, a son or daughter, a co-worker, in… Continue Reading
