A Summary of Our Statement of Faith

We believe the BIBLE to be the inspired, infallible, and inerrant, Word of God and that it is the final authority for faith and life.

We believe that there is one GOD, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the full deity of our Lord JESUS CHRIST, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, and in His miracles. We believe in His vicarious and atoning death through His blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His future personal return in power and glory.

We believe that man is naturally lost in his SIN and that regeneration, by grace through faith, apart from works and by the Holy Spirit, is essential for salvation from that sin.

We believe in the present ministry of the HOLY SPIRIT by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the RESURRECTION of both the saved and the lost - they that are saved, to the resurrection of life, and those that are lost, to the resurrection of judgment and everlasting punishment.

We believe that the CHURCH universal is the body of Christ, that her members are identified by personal faith in Jesus Christ, and that have become members they are members one of another with the solemn duty and privilege to fellowship in peace and to love one another with pure and fervent hearts.

We believe that the people of God have an EVANGELISM AND MISSIONARY MANDATE. That body, out of simple obedience to her Head, Jesus Christ, must reach out to lost and needy people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in any place, by every means, and at any cost.

We believe in the SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE, meaning that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the taking of human life, which is murder. We reject the teaching that abortion of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable. We are also opposed to the practice of euthanasia of human beings.

Board members and career missionaries annually reaffirm commitment to this document. While J-Team participants may not agree with every detail of the above statement, they must agree to teach and work in harmony with it while they are a part of a J-Team.
